Last evening, I went to David Healy’s campaign launch for the Dublin Bay North constituency for the upcoming Irish general election campaign. It was a pretty impressive turnout with standing room only. David made some general comments about the election, his main priorities, and then invited questions.
It’s clear that the main issues in the constituency are housing, climate, transport links and health.
On climate, moving to a low carbon economy is going to present us with many challenges but we need to begin and begin immediately.
Having a strong green presence in the Dāil will help us get cracking on the steps we have to take.
I’m grateful that we live in a constitutional Republic and that we elect our representatives using proportional representation.
